What to Expect on Sunday
Whether you are new to Christianity or new to our church, we want you to feel warmly welcome. On Sundays, we gather as Christians around God’s word to worship Him and to encourage one another.
The Bible’s main story is about how God has made a way to save rebellious people through the person and work of Jesus Christ. Christians call this amazing story the “gospel” or good news. As a church, we want our gatherings to always centre on the gospel, so we rehearse the main parts of the gospel to each other each Sunday morning:
- God: in the first part of our services, we hear from God’s word about who God is. During this time, we sing songs and pray prayers that praise God for some aspect of His glorious character.
- Man: next, as we think about ourselves in light of God’s glory, we see our own sinfulness and desperate need of His grace. During this time, we pray prayers of confession. Then, we sing songs and read passages from scripture that remind about His mercy in Christ for those who believe.
- Christ: then, we give thanks to God in prayer. And one of the elders will also pray for the needs of our church before we hear more about Christ and His gospel during the sermon.
- Response: finally, we respond to God’s Word in song. We also regularly celebrate the Lord’s Supper or Baptism in this time. At the end of the service, we receive a final commission and blessing from God’s word as we set out to love God and our neighbours.
When Do We Meet?
- 10:00 am Sunday Worship Service – We meet as a congregation to enjoy a time of worship to God, including singing, prayer and sermon every week and the Lord’s Supper on the first and third Sundays of the month.
- 6:00 pm Sunday Evening Service – Starting in June 2026, we will meet each Sunday evening for interactive teaching on the basic beliefs of the Christian faith and to pray for our church’s needs, mission, and witness.
- Sunday School – Primary School children have their own Bible lessons during the morning sermon time. Our schedule follows the school terms and, in the holidays, a modified programme is provided.
Visitors are welcome to join us at any of our worship services, programs or events and we look forward to seeing you there.
We gather together for worship each Sunday at our church building: 152 Harold Road, Noble Park, Victoria 3174
